FAQ Emotional Support

You Belong Here, Whoever You Are, However You Travel

Emotional Support & Personal Journeys

My English isn’t very strong - will I still enjoy the trip?

Yes! Most of our community speaks English as a second (or third) language, and we communicate with kindness and patience. If you don’t understand something, someone will help you. You do not need perfect grammar or fluent speech to feel welcome, included, or connected.

I’ve never done anything like this before - what if I’m not ready?

Then this might be exactly the right time. GGI trips are designed for women who are figuring things out, starting again, or just need a soft place to land. You don’t have to be experienced, confident, or fearless — just open to the idea that this could be a beautiful turning point.

I’m introverted - will I be overwhelmed?

GGI trips are designed to feel more like travelling with friends than a group tour. You’ll never be forced to socialise 24/7 or participate in anything you don’t feel like doing. There’s plenty of space for alone time, slow mornings, quiet walks, and meaningful one-on-one conversations if group energy isn’t your thing. We value rest, reflection and gentle connection just as much as laughter and adventure.

I’m neurodivergent (ADHD, autistic) - will I feel safe and included?

Yes. Many of our travellers are neurodivergent, and we aim to create trips that are predictable in the right places and flexible in others. We’ll share schedules in advance, provide visual info, send reminders and give you control over your experience. Let us know your preferences or needs, and we’ll support you - no judgment, no explaining needed. This is a kind, curious, and non-performative group.

I’ve never travelled in a group before - what if I don’t know how it works?

You’re not alone - many GGI travellers are trying group travel for the first time. We’ll guide you through everything: how to pack, where to go, how to meet the group, what to expect. You don’t need experience, just an open heart and a bit of curiosity. Everything else, we’ll figure out together.

This is my first time away from my kids - will I be okay?

Yes, and you’re not the only one. Many of our travellers are mothers and caregivers who are finally taking time for themselves - sometimes for the first time in years. You’re allowed to feel nervous, excited, guilty, proud - or all of the above. This space will hold you. You’ll be cared for, supported, and reminded that you deserve this too.

I’ve never really travelled before - is this too much for me?

Nope. Our trips are especially welcoming for those who are new to travel or rebuilding confidence. We’ll guide you through logistics, help you connect with other travellers in advance, and support you emotionally and practically. No travel experience required. Just a willingness to try something new.

I have a chronic condition, pain, or meds to take - can I still join?

Yes. We’ve had participants with chronic fatigue, endometriosis, autoimmune conditions, migraines, anxiety, and more. Your needs are valid. Let us know what helps you feel good and what to avoid, and we’ll help you move through the trip at your pace. There’s no shame here, only support.

I have food intolerances, allergies, or preferences - will I be okay?

Yes. Whether you’re gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, low-FODMAP, halal, or simply selective, we will accommodate your dietary needs with care. Just tell us in advance. We work closely with local restaurants and caterers to make sure you’re not only safe, but also nourished and included.

I’m gay / queer - is this a welcoming space?

Absolutely. GGI trips are queer affirming, safe, and inclusive. You’ll find other LGBTQ+ women and allies on every trip and our values are rooted in respect, community, and celebration of who you are.

I’m non-binary or trans - will I feel safe and seen?

Yes. We welcome trans women, non-binary folks, and all women-aligned travellers with open arms. If you have specific concerns around safety, rooming, or local laws in the destination, we’ll talk with you openly and help you navigate it safely. Your identity is respected here always.

I’m undocumented / in between paperwork - can I join a trip?

It depends on your ability to travel legally to the destination. If visas, ID, or legal status are an issue, we can help you understand the requirements and what options you have. No judgment, no assumptions. We’ll always keep your privacy and dignity at the centre.
