Gone To Venice is a long weekend of gorgeous sights, amazing food, incredible company and unique experiences. Hosted by local Venetian women from our Girl Gone International community, this small-group experience blends iconic moments with quiet neighbourhoods, aperitivi as a social ritual and time to actually be in the city. You’ll meet fellow travellers before you arrive, feel fully supported throughout and leave with new friends and a Venice that feels lived-in, not ticked off.

Day 1
Welcome to Venice

Check in at your hotel in Cannaregio at 2pm.
Choose to rest or begin exploring the neighbourhood at your own pace. Wander quiet canals, find a café, or soak up your first views of Venice.
Welcome aperitivo & cicchetti in a beautiful local spot to get to know each other and have your first formal introduction to Venice from our local Venetian host. Optional group dinner in a much loved restaurant to enjoy classic Venetian flavours and ease into the weekend together.
Day 2
Hidden Venice & Iconic Sights

Meet your licensed Venetian guide and set off on a morning walk towards St Mark’s, discovering hidden corners and everyday Venice along the way.
Visit St Mark’s Basilica when the mosaics are illuminated and the extraordinary Pala d’Oro. This guided experience helps you orient yourself, understand the city, and really feel Venice.
The afternoon is free to wander, shop, rest. Evening, we regroup for sunset drinks followed by an optional group dinner in a local trattoria to continue conversations and enjoy Venice at a slower pace.
Day 3
Women, Stories, Venice

Begin the day with an International Women’s Day meetup, a relaxed space for conversation and reflection to mark the day together.
From there, join a special walk through colourful, light-filled neighbourhoods, everyday Venetian life, artisan shops and beautiful corners of the city plus a guided food tour!
The afternoon is free to rest. In the early evening, come together for a sunset gondola ride, gliding through the canals during golden hour before ending the day with a relaxed cicchetti to celebrate the weekend and new friendships.

A refundable deposit of £200 paid via Stripe secures your spot and supports the event portion of the trip. Full payment is due via at least 30 days before departure via Trust My Travel which protects your money and trip. Deposits are refundable only within 72 hours of paying the deposit unless the trip is canceled due to low numbers. Travel insurance is required.

Check-in opens from 2:00 PM.
If you arrive early, you can drop off your bags and explore Venice until your room is ready.
Check-out is by 10:30 AM. We'll enjoy a farewell breakfast together before departure.
A trip is confirmed when we receive enough bookings. As soon as we receive enough bookings we will send an email to tell you the trip is 100% confirmed and then you can book your flights!
We will give you a set of instructions depending on which hotel you fly into. You can fly into various airports, the closest is Venice Marco Polo (VCE) followed by Treviso which Ryanair fly into and offer bus transfers. Other close airports include Bologna (BLQ) and Verona (VRN).
Yes.
This trip is open to all women and non-binary people. You do not need to be part of a GGI local group. Many participants join solo, and everyone is welcomed with warmth and inclusion.
Yes, you can bring a friend.
Most travellers are between 30 and 55, but we welcome adults of all ages. If you are older or younger at heart and open to connection, you’ll fit right in. We don't care about age - being an international woman has nothing to do with age and everything to do about moving around the world in a meaningful way!
If you have been an active Girl Gone International volunteer for over 6 months hosting and upholding your promise to the community to host free events / create conversation in the community then you are entitled to an upgrade as a thank you for all you do! We have 2 available for this trip. Just ask Anne!
Yes. Payment plans are available. Just contact us after booking to arrange a schedule that works for you.
Yes. Travel insurance is required. You’ll be asked to confirm your coverage before the trip and sign a waiver upon arrival.
Yes. We create a calm, inclusive space with structure, flexibility, and respect. You can opt in or out of activities. If you have specific needs or preferences, you're encouraged to share them in advance so we can accommodate you.
You are very welcome. Many of our travellers are in their 50s or 60s. We accommodate a range of needs, and you can choose how much or how little you participate. If you have mobility concerns, chronic pain, or another condition, just let us know through the comfort form so we can support you properly.
Yes. Venice has options for vegetarians, vegans, and other dietary needs. Let us know in advance and we’ll work with you and local restaurants to ensure you are well fed and cared for.
Yes. GGI is an international community and many of us speak English as a second or third language. You will be understood and supported.
Expect lots of walking each day on uneven surfaces. You can always stop when you want and relax and join the group again later.
It is cold and beautiful with longer days beginning. Wrap up and perhaps bring an umbrella, it will be typical spring in Europe weather!
Each day includes a mix of structured group experiences and free time. You are encouraged to listen to your energy and do what feels right for you. You can join everything or take quiet time when needed.
Yes of course. We will give you a timed itinerary closer to the trip so you know when you have free time and you can plan your own sidequests!
